The first free to play game for Xbox Live will be coming out on October 12th. The release date for Happy Wars was announced by Microsoft through their playxbla website. While it is a free to play game you will need to have an Xbox Live Gold Account in order to access it.
Happy Wars is essentiallly comprised of an online team death match mode supporting up to 30 players (15 vs. 15). Players will be able to upgrade their character's equipment and appearance by unlocking 'happy stars' by completing various objectives during play. Alternatively players can spend real word cash to unlock 'happy tickets', the in game currency.
Microsoft has yet to talk about how much money or Microsoft points are equivalent to a happy ticket. If they hold true to the free to play model it will probably be a couple dollars at most. Look for our impressions on Happy Wars next week once it is available.
