The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim -- Hearthfire DLC Announced

Elder-Scrolls-Skyrim

With the successful release of the Dawnguard expansions earlier this summer, Bethesda is pushing out the next add-on for their massive hit The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Bethesda has revealed that next major downloadable content for Skyrim titled Hearthfire. Unlike the Dawnguard content, it doesn't appear that Hearthfire will expand upon the game's combat mechanics or give the player too much in the way of a new storyline and quests. Hearthfire instead allows players to purchase a plot of land and build their own home.

Hearthfire will allow you to construct kitchens, greenhouses, libraries, trophy rooms, and even alchemy labs. You will also be able to set up gardens, fish hatcheries and beehives on the exterior of your home. You wil also be able to hire a steward to help run the affairs of your household.

Hearthfire also gives players the ability to adopt children with their spouse. It is unlike whether there will be goals or achievements tied to raising these children.

Hearthfire will be available as a timed exclusive for the Xbox 360 on September 4th for 400 Microsoft Points. Expect to see it hit other platforms at least one month later.
