If you like zombies as much as I do you should be pumped for Undead Labs' State of Decay. While we have only seen a little bit of footage of the game, it has a lot of promise and seems to scratch the same itch that DayZ and the upcoming War Z do, except on the Xbox 360. We also have a trailer for your viewing pleasure below.
State of Decay is a third person action game that takes place in the fallout of a zombie apocalypse. The open world game will “develops in real-time, shaped by your actions."
“You choose where to make your stand, designing and fortifying your home base, performing daring raids for food and ammunition, and rescuing other playable survivors with unique talents,” Undead Labs explains. “The open, sandbox world develops in real-time, shaped by your actions, dynamically generating content based on your choices and the ever-increasing zombie threat.”
Way back in 2011, Undead Labs originally unveiled State of Decay as Class3 an open world zombie survival game where player chocie was a integral factor. State of Decay began development in 2010, according to a blog post by Undead Labs founder Jeff Strain.
“Two years have passed. It sometimes feels like forever, but the truth is that’s not a large amount of time in game development years,” Strain wrote. “For those of you who’ve stuck with us from the beginning -- when those two years seemed like forever -- today is for you.”
