According to a recent report on The Verge, Lego Lord of the Rings will have 85 different playable characters, many of which were left out of the Peter Jackson film trilogy. J.R.R Tolkien's fantasy world is known for having numerous characters and Telltale is keeping that spirit alive with their next Lego game.
While no specific characters were named we should expect some fan favourites from the novels that did not appear in the big screen adaptations. Characters that make up the fellowship of the ring like Gandalf, Frodo, Merry, Pippin, Sam, Aragorn, Gimli, Legolas and Boromir will be playable.
While Lego Harry Potter was broken into a few games, the entire Lord of the Rings film franchise will be covered in this single outing by Telltale. The storyline and dialgoue from the films will be used in the game but with the classic Telltale interpretation.
As players follow Frodo on his quest to destroy the one ring, we will visit famous Middle Earth locations such as the Mines of Moria, the Misty Mountains and Mount Doom itself.
Lego: Lord of the Rings will be available on all major platforms on October 30th, 2012.
