While it is no secret that some gamers don't care about their avatar or those cute little avatar items, there are those that must love decking at their avatar in the latest fashions. With Microsoft launching Avatar Famestars, clearly it is in response to the popularity of avatar items.
The new rewards program will allow players to earn rewards for their avatars and gain "Famestar points" (yay! another XBL currency), by completing challenges across multiple XBLA titles. The Famestar program will include weekly and one time challenges that will provide players with avatar clothing and items. Microsoft says players can carry these items over from one game to the next but doesn't avatar clothing already carry over in games that use avatars as playable characters?
The first game to work with Avatar Famestar is this week's summer of arcade release Wreckateer. The rewards programs will also be added to Full House Poker and World of Keflings and upcoming titles such as Fire Pro Wrestling, Homerun Stars, and Avatar Motocross Madness.
