Those who finished Final Fantasy XIII-2 and more recently it's last piece of DLC "Requiem of the Goddess", have probably been wondering if there would ever be some kind of conclusion for the events that appeared in each ending. While there wasn't an official announcement FFXIII and XIII-2 director Motomu Toriyama dropped some hints in a recent Famistu about a second direct sequel.
"The [FFXIII-2] Lightning download content had an ending that left a feeling mystery and hope. The day when the meaning of this will come to light is not too far off," says Toriyama.
FFXIII-2 ended with the words "to be continued" and it's DLC instead of providing a proper ending teased a future storyline for the series.
Final Fantasy's 25th anniversary will be on August 31 of this year so we could hear some news on a new game then.
