Capcom has confirmed that their newest IP, Dragon's Dogma has shipped over one million copies leading the publisher to call the game a "major franchise." While Capcom did not explicitly state that the game will get a sequel, the wording of the press release suggests it will.
Marking Capcom's 55th one million unit seller, Dragon's Dogma set new sales records in Japan for best one week sales for a new IP in the last ten years. After calling Dragon's Dogma a "major franchise" the press release also states that "Capcom plans to add more titles to the lineups of its core game franchises."
