XCOM: Enemy Unknown Touching down this fall

Today 2K Games announced that XCOM: Enemy Unknown will be released in the US on October 9 and internationally October 12th for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.
Also announced for the the Firaxis developed action strategy game is the "Elite Solider Pack" pre-order bonus. This bonus pack contains various visual character customizations options including a classic XCOM solider from the 1993 original with a blonde flattop hair style. There is currently no word on whether or not the Elite Solider Pack will be available for download for those who do not pre-order.
In addition to the release date and pre-order bonus, 2K also announced a special edition of XCOM: Enemy Unknown, retailing for $60. In addition to a copy of the game the special edition will include an art book, fold-out poster of the XCOM headquarters, an XCOM insignia patch, and a collection of digital assets like desktop wallpaper and the game's soundtrack.
