Bungie’s Destiny headed to Xbox 360 & next Xbox in fall 2013

As part of Activision's lawsuit against former Infinity Ward heads Jason West and Vince Zampella major details on Bungie’s game for the company have been revealed. From the LA Times comes a 27-page contract that Bungie signed with Activision which describes the games as a “sci-fantasy, action shooter games.” The series currently has the codename “Destiny,” and will have a new chapter released first in 2013 with a new one following every other year. During the off years four downloadable expansion packs which have been given the codename “Comet” will be released.
The contract also mentions that the game will be “massively-multiplayer-style” stating:
“…a series of interactive entertainment software products being developed by Licensor based on the Destiny Property, planned to be massively-multiplayer-style (i.e., client-based mission structures with persistent elements)”
Even more interesting is the game and DLC is apparently being developed for both the Xbox 360 and Xbox 720 (most likely not the real name and just a placeholder). Destiny also seems to be mainly for Microsoft consoles with a PS3 version possibly coming in 2014 if Bungie and Activision decide to make it.
“Destiny Game #1, along with any related DLC Releases as well as Comet #1, shall be initially developed by Licensor to operate on and be compatible with the Microsoft Xbox 360 video game console (“Xbox 360″) and the next successor console platform releases by Microsoft configured for both the NTSC and PAL television/video system standards (“Xbox 720″).”
And there’s more. The second game in the series along with it’s DLC is being developed for the Xbox 360, Xbox 720, Playstation 4 and Windows PCs to come out in 2015.
“Destiny Game #2, along with any related DLC Releases as well as Comet #2, shall be initially developed by Licensor to operate on and be compatible with the Xbox 360, Xbox 720, and the Sony PlayStation 4 computer entertainment system (i.e., the next successor platform released by Sony after PlayStation 3) … and personal computer with Windows-based operating system…”
Bungie has since posted a small statement on their site regarding the reveal.
“So, yeah. While we’re not ready to show you what we've been working on, we can reconfirm that we are hard at work on our new universe. We can’t wait for you to see it.”
“See you starside in 2013.”
